After the realization of Dïngx, the solo performance and recording with the first FONICS, Mathius Shadow-Sky proposed to Jean Weinfeld to create an orchestra with all the twelve second generation Fonics. Most of them were bowed string instruments. The Fonics was difficult to play and just two musicians accepted the challenge. The Trio Fonic was composed with Jean François Ott, Pierre Bastien and Mathius Shadow-Sky. During two years the Trio Fonic debuted 38 pieces written by Pierre Bastien and Mathius Shadow-Sky. Shadow-Sky created 7 spectacles with the Trio Fonic with costumes and scenography.
