The Giovanni is a fairly new clan. Rumor has it they took over a clan
now gone. They tend to keep their ties within their own families. They are basically
the Mafia of the Kindred. Their ties to mortal crime and politics is just
a cover to their dealings in the magics of the dead. Stories are told that the
Giovanni's were no more then merchant dealers bored with the pleasures they
had already attained and started dealing in necromancy. This in turn caught the
eye of Kindred. Once the elder of the family had attained the Embrace, their sire
was then diablerized and from then on only members of the Giovanni family were
Embraced. Both Camarilla and Sabbat neither trust nor bother the Giovanni. So the clan is left to their own dealings without interference from other Kindred. At times the Camarilla have called upon them to do business dealings for them. But, they are never trusted and watched closely. Much as you would watch closely a dangerous animal. The Giovanni only Embrace from the most stuidous and potentially great business men to join the Giovanni's ranks of Kindred. |
