The OASIS Programs have been designed to take public education to the public. OASIS Programs are offered in schools in each of the 20 communities of schools. Students and their families, as well as the community at-large, may participate in the OASIS Program closest to their home or one housed in their child's school community. Programs are designed to involve students, parents and the community in meaningful and significant ways, such as tutoring, mentoring, music and art enrichment activities, as well as other programs offered specifically for adults.

OASIS programs offer after-school acedemic enrichment and personal growth activities for students, as well as parenting and career development activities for adults. Staffed by individuals who volunteer their time to assist children and their families, the programs provide Opportunities for Achievement, Support, Involvement and Success.Programs offered in the OASIS centers include, but not limited to:

remedial and enrichment reading programs
remedial and enrichment mathematics programs
writing labs
computer labs
cultural arts programs
study skills programs
programs for parents

Surrattsville Community of Schools OASIS
What is the OASIS Program? The OASIS program will bring the community together for cultural and academic enrichment programs. The programs are offered at the various cluster schools and Stephen Decatur Middle School, the OASIS site for 1998-1999.
What are some of the programs OASIS offers? Tutoring, college aid financial workshops, computer training, special needs information, walk-in counseling on Saturdays, parenting classes, family math nights, and much, much more!

Who can participate? Any community member or organization who wishes to invest time as a participant or volunteer. All OASIS programs are dependent on volunteers.
