Communtiy Awareness Meeting

March 20, 2001

The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. Present were Communtiy Manager Dave Bosek, Security personnel Tim Burke and T.J. Fisher, Office personnel Catrina Sanchez and Rachel Pendleton, Grounds Department personnel Brian Pahel and Dave Lundell and approximately 40 residents.

The minutes from the February meeting were read by Catrina Sanchez.

Channel 23 should be operational by the end of this week. This channel is available on the basic antenna service of Milenium Cable. Community information will be posted by Rachel Pendleton.

Residents have expressed dissatisfaction with Millenium Cable and a request was made for Dave Bosek to draw up a complaint letter and petition for all the residents to sign.

There was a meeting in February with the management of the waste removal company that handles garbage pickup. The residents complaint letters were presented to them. The grounds personnel follows and grades thier performance every week and takes pictures of problems that are not corrected. A weekly performance report is filled out and given to the supervisor of the disposal crew. He reports to the office every Wednesday to to make sure the job is being performed as it should be. This will continue as long as necessary. If you have any complaints, inform the office so that they can be resolved.

The mail mall is still a major problem, despite the No Parking signs and the persistance of the security personnel. Residents are asked to park in near-by parking spaces while picking up thier mail. Any suggestions as to how this problem can be solved will be appreciated.

An Activities Committee has been formed. Sharon Duncan spoke to us about future planned activities. Area businesses will be approached for donations such as snacks, gift certificates, etc. Some of the planned activities are shopping trips , casino trips, bingo, teen basketball tournaments, career fairs etc. Flyers will be passed out to every home to inform you of each activity as it occurs. Any suggestions for other activities are welcome.

Spring inspections will start in April. This year a form will be filled out and mailed to every home in the community. Your site will be graded and any violations that you may have will need to be acted upon promptly, such as shed being completed, ruts being filled, etc.

New registration cards will be included in the April newsletter. These need to be updated and turned into the office. A drawing will be held and if your card is drawn you will receive $50.00 off of the next months rent.

A report on the grounds departments activities was given by Brian Pahel. A swing set and benches have been approved and ordered and will be installed this spring. Any lawns that were torn up by the snow plow this winter will be repaired.

Security personnel will be concentrating on intensifying the rules for this community found in the rule book. On street parking is still a problem. There is NO on-street parking allowed in this community. Violations are issued to those homes that the vehicles are parked in front of. If you see cars in front of your home inform security personnel which home the vehicles belong to. Otherwise the violation will be given to you. If you find it necassary to page security for any reason, ALL pages are promptly answered except those concerning speeding vehicles. Tim has found a towing company that will come into the community to remove vehicles that are in violation of the rules as listed in the Rule Book. If you have a vehicle towed you will need to go to the office and pay all towing expenses in order to have the vehicle released. The towing company will NOT release the vehicle without the release form from the office. The police department is very supportive of this community and will continue to patrol as often as they can. Thier presence does not necessarily mean there is a problem. Visibility is a deterrent to unlawful activities. If you have any problems with another person please report it to the office with descriptions of the person, names, vehicle description, license plates, etc. You are encouraged to take pictures also. The more information the office has the easier it will be to control the problem.

Reminder: there is a suggestion box located in the office for residents use. Any suggestions or complaints may be placed there.

All residents who attended this meeting were given a raffle ticket. Four tickets were picked and three residents received floral arrangements crafted and donated by Sharon Duncan. The fourth ticket holder received a gift certificate for $50.00 off of next months rent.

Again, Thanks to the Cantells for bringing refrehments to the meeting.
