Dave McLean

Former Celtic winger Dave McLean arrived at Bayview as Player/Manager in 1911 where he took up the playing position of Right Half. After taking the club to the Scottish Cup Final in 1927, Dave left East Fife to take charge of Bristol Rovers in 1928. He was persuaded to return to Bayview in 1931 in an unsuccessful attempt to save East Fife from relegation as their first ever season in the top league drew to a close. The greatest moment of his amazing twenty-seven years at the helm of East Fife was the famous Scottish Cup win in 1938. Dave McLean finally left Bayview in the summer of 1941 to manage Heart of Midlothian.
