East Fife and Raith Rovers have, of course, met on numerous other occasions over the years. The pair have met each other in Fife Cup, Fife League, Wemyss Cup, Penman Cup and Wartime League matches as well as numerous friendlies and charity matches. The first ever meeting between the sides was on 2 January 1904 at Starks Park, Kirkcaldy, in a Fife League match which Raith won 3-0 in front of a crowd of 3,500. The most memorable match ever to take place between East Fife and Raith was the Scottish Cup Quarter Final Replay at Starks Park on 23 March 1938 in front of a crowd of 25,500. Two goals from Andy Herd and a single counter from Bob McCartney saw East Fife win the match 3-2 and progress through to the Semi Final where they overcame St Bernards before going on to beat Kilmarnock in the Final.
