Head Coach
George Seifert

Pro Career
After a two-year hiatus from coaching, Seifert became the second coach in Carolina Panthers history on January 4, 1999.

Seifert ranks first all-time among NFL head coaches with a .755 winning percentage and reached both 50 and 75 victories faster than any coach in League history. He is one of nine head coaches who have won two or more Super Bowls (Joe Gibbs, Jimmy Johnson, Tom Landry, Vince Lombardi, Chuck Noll, Bill Parcells, Mike Shanahan and Don Shula).

He coached on all five of San Francisco's Super Bowl championship teams, earning one ring as secondary coach (1981), two as defensive coordinator (1984, 1988) and two as head coach (1989, 1994). He ranks as the 49ers' all-time leader with 98 regular-season victories and 108 total wins.

Seifert directed 49ers teams that boasted the NFL's best record in 1989, 1990, 1992, and 1994. He guided San Francisco to a club-record five NFC championship appearances and tied Bill Wash's club mark with six NFC West titles.

He was named 49ers head coach in 1989 and became the second rookie head coach to win a Super Bowl while posting 17 total victories. Appointed San Francisco's defensive coordinator in 1983 after joing the 49ers as secondary coach in 1980.
