This level has some of the most knock-out visuals of the entire game. In this level, you'll be introduced to monsters, such as the Scorpion and Were-Jaguar. Getting through this level requires that you collect the two artificial skulls and then proceed to get all four elemental relics. At the Plaza of the Sun, go forward and turn left at the intersection. Hit the button on the wall, and return to the intersection to find that a passage has opened. Continue going straight, following the hall until you reach a lever. Hit the lever to activate the bridge. Go back to the intersection and turn right. Head down the path across the bridge and enter the building. Continue until you arrive at an altar. A door at the top of the stairs will open. Go up the stairs and find weapon #3. Turn back around and go left to get power-ups. Go back over to the other side and enter the door leading to the Obelisk of the Moon. Go around and down the stairs. Climb up on the banister and take a running leap for the top of the opposite doorway. Steps will appear along the wall. Hop up the steps to the platform with the archer and read the message. Hop back down and enter the building. Go straight into the room with an obelisk at the center. Walk over both floor buttons to open up three doors. Enter the door to the left and proceed to a red hallway lined with wall torches. Make a right at about the middle of the hallway and find the bridge. Take a shortcut by dropping down to the platform directly below and exiting through the teleporter. Grab the ornamental stone key. Run back across the bridge (don't stop for too long - it's collapsing), making sure to jump across the gap at the end. Go back to the Plaza of the Sun door and enter. At the Plaza of the Sun, go down the stairs to the altar. Wind around and enter the passage under the stairs. Open the door on the left and proceed to the Test of Fire. You must prove your worth here by leaping across bobbing platforms around the perimeter of the lava pit, pressing three buttons along the way. The key to accomplishing this successfully is to master pressing your back key at the precise moment you need to drop down during your jump. After the platforms have settled, leap over to the structure in the center, enter through the front and grab the fire element. Hit a button on the wall and drop down with the platform. Go through the entrance to the Court of 1000 Warriors.

Go up the set of stairs and through the double doors. Go up yet another flight of stairs. Turn right, head for the outside of the structure, and grab the power-ups. Go around to the front of the building and go up the stairs to the top. Walk over the disk bearing a dagger, wait for it to rotate, then go through the door to the left of the lava pool. Follow the corridor and go left at the ring of turning. Follow a set of stairs down to a room. Go right through a door and down some stairs. Come to the rope bridge, drop down, and head through a passage on the right. Jump into the water and hit the switch. Once the bars in the floor have moved aside, swim down, grab the jade skull, and hit the second switch. Swim up and through the exit that has just opened above. Return to the Plaza of the Sun door and exit through it. Reactivate the elevator by hitting the button on the wall and go up. Go down the altar stairs, turn around left, pass the stairs, make a right, and read the message. Return to the open door with the ornate stone key. Hop over the stream. Continue on to the Square of the Stream door and enter. Enter an area with four exits and follow the path on the right to a well. Prove your worth by swimming through the maze to the other side and up through a passage. Enter the room and grab the water element. Go through the passage that opens up. Follow the corridor back to the area with the four exits. Run straight across through the newly available exit. Arrive at a big room with an obelisk at the center. Get the Mystic Urn by jumping off the platform toward the obelisk. Grab any other power-ups and leave through a passage under the stairs. Go through the corridor and into a room. Walk around the pool and step on the floor switch to raise the platform out of the pool. Get the serpent's heart. Head back towards the obelisk, but just before you reach it, turn left up a narrow staircase and return to the area with the four exits. Go across and up the stairs to a room with an altar and a small pool. Place the serpent heart upon the altar and get the crystal skull. Return to the area with the four exits (there should be some new monsters here, so watch out). Go straight across and take the stairs to the Plaza of the Sun entrance. Enter and continue down the corridor until you come back to the room with the altar at the base of a set of stairs. Go up the stairs and back to the door to the Obelisk of the Moon. Go through the door. Go directly to the room with the obelisk. Visit both of the rooms with the red alcoves to deposit the skulls. Go through the secret doors when they open and head for the door to the Palace of Columns.

Go forward and then make a left at the wall. Continue down the hall to an area with a pyramid-shaped building then proceed through the hall between the columns. Arrive at the corridor with the red carpet. Go through the door on the right, go down a hall, and come to a room containing lava. Activate the button on the wall to the left and cross the new bridge. Across the bridge, find another button and push it, raising yet another bridge. Go back around to the red carpet area and this time go through the other door. Go across the bridge that was recently raised, follow the walkway to the teleporter, and enter it. Go to the Tomb of the High Priest. Go to an area to the left containing the second piece of weapon #4. Continue straight, then left down a corridor, then down some stairs. Go to the room where a platform lowers from the ceiling then straight across into a room with a tome of power. Twist around and enter one of the passages in the stairs. Go towards the green walls and wait for the wall to move back. Duck down and run through the passage to avoid getting crushed. Then you'll finally come to a balcony. Jump down and open the sarcophagus. Go through the new door under the balcony and get the air element. Find your way back to the Palace of Columns door and enter. Follow the ramp to the right of the teleporter and down. Return to the hallway and take a left. You should be near the pyramid-shaped building again. Go to the back of the pyramid and follow the stairway down. Enter the door leading to the Court of 1000 Warriors. Go up the stairs to the left and jump down. Head left and prove yourself by hurrying past the moving blocks. Come to the final moving block at the end and grab the earth element from beneath it (be careful). Go back through the blocks and find the newly opened corridor spanning the two rows of blocks. A good way to find this passage in all the confusion is to face inward and strafe left or right (depending on which side you're standing on) until you spot the opening along the wall. Take the elevator up and go back to the door to the Palace of Columns. Enter the door. Find your way back to the Obelisk of the Moon door and enter. Finally, go back to the central room with the obelisk, through the exit that is closest to the stairs, and take the first left. Head toward the door leading to the Bridge of Stars and enter. Head up the stairs then over the bridge. Grab the first piece of weapon #4 and go down the hall to the left or right. Come to the Bridge of Stars and go through the hall to the teleporter. Put the elements into the centers of each of the beams, jumping down to the next beam after an element is left (be careful not to fall in the lava). Go back to the teleporter, go down the stairs to the left, and exit through the red teleporter. Confront Death and vanquish him!
