To CSF Members,

Take-A-Teacher-To-Lunch Day is May 1, 2000.  This is the first day back from spring break.
Make sure the teachers are invited by Tuesday the week before the break.  The cards should
be in writing, preferably homemade and decorated.  The teacher may not know you or forget
who invited him/her so be sure to present the invitations in person.  If you promise to escort
them from their classroom be sure to show up.  Too many students last year were hung up on
last minute details and forgot to escort the teachers.  Watch the time, since lunchtime is short
and you have little leeway to make mistakes.  You can't afford to wait in the parking lot for
your mom to show up with the spaghetti.

This is a long tradrition at Piedmont Hills, one that is cherished by the staff.  Please put some
effort into this luncheon.  Make it classy, unique and fun.  It'll be special because you made it!

No mistakes, promise?  Have fun too!

Guidelines:

Make sure you know who is in your group, and that everyone in your group knows who the
assigned teachers are.

Make homemade invitations for the lunch and personally deliver the invitations to your
assigned teachers by April 18th at latest.

When inviting teachers be sure to:
1.  Bring another member of your group to make sure you don't forget anything.
2.  Introduce yourself and the other group member.
3.  Tell the teacher that you or the other group member will meet them in their classroom to
escort them to the luncheon.
4.  Thank the teachers for their time, tell them you are looking foward to the luncheon.
5.  Ask teachers if they any special diet so that you know to or not to prepare.

We hope it will be a sunny day, but should it rain, the luncheon will be held indoors.  Every group
is to bring two blankets (if it's sunny) and a table cloth (if it rains).

All dishes must be homemade.  NO FAST FOOD!  Making homemade meals shows the
teachers that you care and they greatly appreciate your efforts.

Having multiple courses and divide the work of making the dishes among the members of your
group.  Most groups will have appetizers, two main courses, and a dessert.

DO NOT EAT WITH YOUR HANDS!  Bringing utensils, table clothes, blankets (in case of
rain), extra napkins, salt and pepper, and other "small things" show that teachers that you are
committed and sincere.

Serve teachers first.  Remember, it is their lunch, not yours.

Clean up everything, even if you or your group members did not make the mess.

Follow up with a thank you note the next day.

Let Creativity Flow But Not Overflow!

If you have any questions about the lunch or teachers, ask the reps or officers.  If you lose your
teacher assignments, come to room F-10 where it will be posted.
