When Diskette System for Nintendo Family Computer/Entertainment System introduced in 1985, this made about 80% of the market of video game console owned by Nintendo in the last five years of 1980's. (The rest were Master System by Sega and PC-Engine by NEC). Nintendo wanted video game console more popular. Capital cost of disks was lower than cartridges. More game manufacturers rather to published their games on Nintendo game console....

任天堂的磁碟介面系統於一九八五年問世,並與以當時流行的盒帶介面一齊開發,令任天堂於八十

年代中、後期,唯一可在電視遊戲市場中有超過百分之八十的佔有率(其次是世嘉的 Master System

NECPC-Engine)。她更使電視遊戲不再是有錢人的專利品;而磁碟推出所耗成本較盒帶便宜,各廠

商更願意為任天堂做遊戲.....


Copyrights of games are the most important problem for the publishing the game software. Governments of different countries may have different laws to protected the copyrights of the software. I will divided up two chapter to illustrated to you. This chapter may investigate the policies applied by government for --- Japan.

在上一回的舊GAME博物館和時光穿梭機,我曾提及過任天堂紅白機自推出磁碟機後,軟件能夠用

盒帶及磁碟方式推出。無論是用那一種介面,遊戲的版權問題,是十分受人爭議的問題,在不同地方有

不同的政策及處理手法,我會一連兩回和大家闡述,這次的時光穿梭機將探討的地方:「日本」。

I think the national relation of Japan affected their people thought that they must brought the original game. Profit gained by the game manufacturers can made them have more capital and resource to develop more new games. On the other hand, anyone who selling the illegal copies of game is an offense against the law and lead to punishment. Game manufacturers feel their knowledge can be protected.

相信是愛國關係,其傳統令人意識到作為消費者必須使用正版遊戲,廠商有利潤才有動力及資源去

開發更多新遊戲;另一方面政府對「知識產權」相當看重,決心嚴懲那些經營翻版的商人,有一定阻嚇

作用。對於政府的務實態度,廠商自然樂意為磁碟機客戶製造新遊戲。

When Disk System popular in the later of 1980's, "disk-writer" are lanuached in shops selling video games in Japan which acts as a copy machine.

Firstly, original game must be brought by game player. When he want to play another game, he must take the disk to "disk-writer" in order to erase the original game and copy new game on it. This can avoid the illegal transfer of games between friend. It is very convenient because disk writer open 24 hours and can brought the game in any time. Overall, the illegal software is not serious problem of Japan.

當磁碟機風行之時,在一些賣遊戲機店集中的地方(例如:秋葉

縣),有些叫做「DISKWRITER」(外型像自動售賣機)的機器,供磁碟

機用戶抄碟之用。

Disk-Writer in Japan                      這種機器是以「交換」型式:首先玩者要購買原裝遊戲,當玩厭

日本的 "Game-Writer"         了某款遊戲,可攜同原裝磁碟到 DISKWRITER 抄另一款遊戲,原有遊戲

就被徹底洗去,這樣來可間接避免朋友之間的非法抄錄;而這種抄碟機又不分日夜,一天廿四小時都可

以抄遊戲,非常方便。總括來說,日本的侵犯版權問題並不嚴重。
