During the 1998 baseball season,
two men gave us one of the most
memorable moments in sports history
as Sammy Sosa of the Chicago Cubs
and Mark McGuire of the
St. Louis Cardinals battled
it out for the Major League Baseball
record of the home runs hit
in a season.
(orginally held by Roger Maris in 1961.)
McGuire went ahead and hit 70 homers ,
but not to be undone,
Sosa hit 66 and took the Cubs to the
post-season
(however, Atlanta beat the
Cubs 4 games to none)
and won the National League's
Most Valuable Player for 1998.
One word can sum
all this up: Unbelieveable!!!
