MENETIA -- Although outside her political realm as candidate for Belarian Governor, Glora Estef made a speech in front of thousands of Menetians Friday, prior to performing three songs. She made mention that she was terribly angry with the Social Democratic government for not preventing this economic disaster. She also mentioned that she would see to it that Belaria's Ministers lobby to help out the disaster-strucken province. At home, this speech gave her enough political points to take a twenty-point lead over her Conservative opponent.
Also in Menetia, the President gave a speech on the same topic. President Kerns suggested that his PIP budget will include nearly 115 million dollars in relief grants for needy cities, especially targeted at Menet. He also said that the Social Democratic government should offer grants to companies to expand in order to reduce unemployment, and they should also cut spending levels in order to reduce sales and property taxes.
The President is headed over to Mala City in order to pitch his PIP initiatives, because of the lack of Labor Party Ministers from the province. So far, support for his populist program in in the forties, although his approval rating is at a record high of 62.
CORLANA -- The largest city in Corli is the home of Kacey Wood, the former Socialist Party presidential candidate who is bitterly defending the Menetian Government, as well as denouncing the recently decided merger between the Liberals, the Democrats, and the Socialists to form a Social Democratic Party.
This attack comes during a time in which she is attempting to make a run for the General Assembly, as a socialist Independent, although she originally intended to run with the Socialist Party.
Expect her support to rise within the Socialist wing of the Social Democrats while talks about a merged platform heat up.
MENETIA -- In light of the recent decline in popularity of the Social Democratic government, as well as declining economic strength, it shouldn't be a surprise that a newer minor party took a Minister post.
Although it did. Mike Marone, a Green Minister from Menet, has recently been declared elected. He won with a lead of nearly 5 points ahead of the Labor candidate, and a 11 point lead ahead of the Conservative Party.
News about this new party, as well as the new Anarchist Party will continue to be presented, as it develops.
CYBER CITY -- An amendment to the second Chamber resolution is being considered by the Chamber late this week. Insiders indicate the amendment, which details the bidding operation for a government project, is receiving bipartisan support. Except for from the Majority Leader.
Majority Leader Keegan Drake recently released a statement to the press that blasted the conservative amendment, as well as the entire resolution. "This resolution is based on the idea that everything the government touches turns to crap and that only private industry can do it correctly. If government just bids with everyone else, what good is it? We might as well not have government at all if it's just another bidder," the statement read.
