Fall Casserole

submitted by Mark Landry

2 quart casserole dish
1 1/2 cups sliced apples
2 1/2 cups thin sliced pumpkin
1/4 cup butter - melted
3 to 4 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup walnuts or almonds broken up
2 tbsp butter
salt to taste

Note: apple slices must be thicker because they cook quicker than
pumpkin.

1) Place a layer of pumpkin, then a layer of apples into casserole
dish.

2) Combine 1/4 cup melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, nuts, and
salt; drizzle some over the apples and pumpkin.

3) Continue the layers with the melted butter mixture drizzled
between until all ingredients are used. Top with the 2 tbsp butter
in small chunks over last layer.

4) Cover dish and bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 55 mins. or until
apples and pumpkin are tender.
