THE FIRST LEAF ON THE FIFTH LIMB

This is my birthday, I'm eighty five
Rather surprised that I'm still alive
And been spared to live and see
The first little leaf on the fifth
limb of our family tree.

There are children and grandchildren
And all great and grand -----
Twenty-seven in all throughout the land
But this one is special, don't you see?
He is the very first leaf on the fifth
limb Of our family tree.

And he is so darling, so perfect and sweet
From the crown of his head to his dear little
feet.
His eyes so like stars, his cheeks like a rose
And a little pink chin, such a cute little nose
I can't just tell you all, but just wait and see
This first little leaf on the fifth limb
Of our family tree.
