The Philadelphia Phantoms are the AHL affliliate of the Flyers. They replaced the Hershey Bears in 96-97. The Phantoms home ice is the CoreStates Spectrum, former home of the Flyers. They are lead by Colin Forbes, Shawn McCosh, Bruce Coles. And everyone has heard of the enforcer, Frank "Animal" Bialowas. The Phantoms competed for the Calder Cup (pictured below) losing in the finals in 7 games to Hershey. The team has lost alot of key players over the off-season such as Vaclav Prospal, who now plays for the Flyers, Yanick Dupre, who tradgicaly died of lukemmia, and Peter White, last year's leading goal scorer for the Phantoms. The Flyer's 3rd string goaltender, Neil Little, is the starting goalie for the AHL team. Phantom's games are a fun experience and they should once again be in contention for the Calder Cup in 1997-98!
