FEELINGS

The people behind the words are real. Everyone has feelings. We laugh, we cry, we love, we hate just the same online as in our daily lives. People make friends. People fall in love. People get their hearts broken. It all happens, and there is no doubt that these feelings are real.

I have watched as people have gotten hurt, putting their trust in someone who was not worthy of it. But I have also experienced the real joy that can be involved when you find someone that is true to what they say and returns your feelings whole-heartedly.

On a cautionary note for everyone who is out there chatting. Be it BDSM or just friendly conversation with another. Always remember that that is a real person you are talking to. Not just words on a screen. A person who has their own thoughts, dreams, opinions, and feelings. Please respect those whom you chat with. Just as you wouldn’t wish to be hurt, neither do they.

And in particular with BDSM chat. Keep an open mind. Just because you don’t like something or wouldn’t do something there are others who do. And there is no reason to put them down or exclude them because of it. We all have our own desires and are searching for a place where we can explore them without being harassed. That’s why many of us turned to the on-line arena.

If you see something going on that you don’t care for, stop before you say anything and think. Ask yourself if you are sure that you know the whole situation and those involved. Whether or not what is happening is consensual between the parties involved. And most importantly. Does the matter even concern you. Don’t make the mistake of stepping into a situation where others are not invited and trying to push your own beliefs onto someone else. Think about it. They may not like what you do either, but they respect you enough to let you do your own thing.
