Yes, you read right, Lord of the Rings got Best TCG!! Needless to say, Origins 2002 was a HUGE success!! LotR got FOUR Origins Awards for the weekend.

The convention started off with a Ranger Reuinion of sorts. From left to right in this picture are Upper Deck Entertainment Rep Kevin Tewart, myself, and UDE Rep Mike Hummel. Kevin and Mike were both involved with the Rangers program for the Babylon 5 CCG, and I was a Ranger in it as well.
FOUR Origins awards! Definitely an acheivement. We were all juiced to see LotR get THIS much recognition. It didn't get Game of the Year.....but at least Harry Potter didn't get GOTY either ;o)
The convention ended on Sunday with a new personal best: 40 (yes FORTY) players for the Lord of the Rings tournament!!! This was the first tournament to allow cards from "Realms of the Elf-Lords". And guess who had the honor of running this event? None other than yours truly!
