I did the ghostly portrait as an interpretation of my friend Zoe, a photographer who enjoys ghost towns and light painting. It was taken at night at Rhyolite ghost town, using a flashlight and a flash with a colored gel.

I also used colored gels on flashes to "light paint" a rock formation in the desert near Beatty.

The highly unusual portrait at the bottom was created by using high contrast material and flipping the model's profile to face itself, then superimposing a front view of the eyes and mouth.
