The Victory I Star Destroyer was produced during the end of the Clone Wars and formed the backbone of the Imperial fleet during the 'Turbulent Era'. As more Imperial Star Destroyers were being constructed Victory I Star Destroyers were being shifted to outlying locations and formed planetary defence fleets. The Corporate Sector Authority purchased 250 of these warships. The engines on board these vessels don't produce sufficient speed so much of its query can simply outrun it, or seek a better position to attack it from. To ensure victories, the acting commander must establish a superior location for his Victory I Star Destroyer to attack from. The advantage of these aging vessels is their ability to enter the atmosphere of a planet, its the largest vessel that can enter the atmosphere. Another flaw to the Victory I Star Destroyer is that it has insufficient starfighter support which has shown when Alliance starfighters blew away several Victory I Star Destroyers.
