CARDONALCardonal is more than just horseback riding - It is a working ranch in Colombia - this means the greates variety of animals and plants all over the world. This is horseback safari, true cowboy live, open grasslands, jungle, aktive 5000 meter volcanoes, lost megalithic cultures, ultralight airplanes, swimmingpool and palmtrees, adventure and comfort all in one.
We offer cattledrives, cowboylive, crocodile safaries, sheep fries and individual expeditions depending of the interests of our guests.
There is perhaps no more emotionally stirring experience than riding on horseback along a narrow jungltrail doing an unforgetable gallop over wide grassland at sunset and catch crocodiles by hand at night. - If it sounds ideal , it is. This is all available at our Ranch.
CARDONAL
offers riders and trekkers the opportunity of venturing off the beaten track into areas that are wild, mountainous and still unexplored. Accompanied by an expert guide and in groups of not more than five people there is no better way of exploring the tropical forest.There is no set trail. Instead the guides choose their path according to the capability of the riders and the daily conditions.
Our daily rides explore an area of 200km2 which offers open grasslands, mountains, jungletrails, and numerous small lakes in exellent riding country.
Our horses are responsive, strong and healthy. They are bred for endurance, disposition, and attitude. We have a herd of about 40 horses available.
Riding experience is not necessary. There is an 225 pound weight limit. Rides can vary anywhere from two to eight hours per day, depending on your abilities and experience.
For thousands of years horses were a vital part of the daily routine and in Cardonal they have not been replaced by machines. The Cowboys use them to do their daily control of 800 cebu cattles that are spread over an area of 200 km2.
This is true cowboy country and the world revolves around the cattle. You can ride with them if you do not choose to do a jungle trip on this day.
All meals you will enjoy are nutritional and homecooked.
