Review in Capital News- November 1997
To say The Wheel are masters of their craft is an understatement, as this album certainly proves. The title track, "Good Noise", sets the pace for a finely produced CD which demonstrates the abilities of this band.
Kim Cheshire's vocals blend superbly with the musical backing and as an added plus, eight out of the twelve tracks were written by Kim, one with Rod McCormack and seven with Kevin Bennett.

The Wheel's first album, although a good record, sounded to me a bit like Kim Cheshire with a very good backing band. On "Good Noise" The Wheel are very much a band. The playing, as usual, is stunning and Kim is singing better than ever. "Good Noise" is a top quality effort and there are no passenger tracks- they all work.

Good Noise
This certainly is good noise- amongst the best. The Wheel now sound like a band- and with all that musical talent, it's a wonderful combination. But the strength of this album lies as much in the songs- including the title track and songs like "Old Black Crow", "Let's Pretend", and "My Sister Jennifer And Me". The combination of Kim Cheshire and the wonderful Kevin Bennett is clearly working brilliantly. The production and delivery are also excellent- with a distinctive and compelling sound.
