Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs

Noel on Bonehead :
"Bonehead- he's bald, he's funny, he's a father, he's dependable except when he's drunk. When he's drunk we call him The Man With The Spinning Head because he loses all control of his neck muscles and grunts. Pain in the arse when he's drunk."

Born: 23 June 1965

Bonehead's parents were Irishs who met and got married in Manchester. At school, his mates had quite longish hair but he had his cropped every week. It didn't take long for them to bestow him with the nickname he carries till this day. He was once in a band with his brother Martin and two other friends and called themselves Pleasure In Pain. However, the band didn't last long and later Bonehead formed The Rain, together with Guigsy (whom he also taught to play the bass), Tony McCarroll on drums and Chris Hutton originally on vocals. That was before Liam had joined them. In the very beginning, Bonehead and Liam wrote songs for The Rain....that was before Noel saw them performing at the Boardwalk in Manchester. Bonehead is currently residing with his wife Kate and daughter Lucy.

Some truths you never knew about Bonehead:

  • He's married with a daughter named Lucy and Noel is godfather.
  • He taught Guigsy how to play bass.
  • Creation Records presented him with a piano for his part in Oasis' success to date, and he's using it to write songs.
  • He was delighted when Oasis became one of the only three bands ever to be banned from London's infamous rock n' roll Columbia Hotel.
  • He was once a plasterer and the room on the cover of Definitely Maybe is all his own work.
