Alan White

Noel on Whitey :
"Whitey -top drummer, pretty quiet, keeps to himself."

Born: 26 May 1972

Whitey, the only cockney in the band, was called in to replace Tony McCarroll. In fact, when he got the crucial phonecall from Noel, Whitey admits he was so stunned he was 'waiting for Jeremy Beadle to walk in.'His mum took the call and said "It's Noel Gally... Gally-something...", explaining that 'He sounded Northern, like someone out of Coronation Street.' Alan picked himself up off the floor and agreed to meet Noel in a cafe. The two immeadiately hit off, to such an extend that he wasn't even asked to audition.

Some truths you never knew about Whitey:

  • Unlike the Gallagher brothers who supports Manchester City, Whitey supports Charlton Athletic.
  • His brother Steve is the drummer for Paul Weller's band.
  • He longs to use his double bass drum for an Oasis track, but fears the brothers will give him the terminal stick for being a 'muso'.
  • According to Noel, "his old man really IS a dustman. Blur will probably try and steal him."
