8/13/99--Steve's seventh solo disk, titled "The Ultra Zone" will be released on September 7th with a tour to follow.

10/98--The box set described below is now being moved for release in 1999. Meanwhile, the guitar master is releasing "Flex-Able Leftovers" in December 1998.  Flex-Able Leftovers features all 8 of the original songs from the 1984 10 song EP (four of the songs were included on the CD version of "Flex-Able", but the other four have never been heard by most fans!). The disc is fully remastered and includes 5 additional songs from the era, re-recorded for this release! (News courtesy of "www.vai.com")

8/98--Steve's box set(see below) is now being geared toward a late '98 release as it's contents are becoming more extensive including the Alcatrazz tunes, and many "out of print" songs that Vai has recorded over the years for a number of artists.

6/98--Guitar wizard STEVE VAI(recorded, toured, and produced with DLR from '86-88) is currently readying a boxed set (shooting toward a late Summer '98 release as well as recording a new studio album. His last studio release was 1996's Fire Garden. Other recent recordings of Steve include G3, a live effort with Joe Satriani and Eric Johnson and Merry Axemas, a guitar album of Christmas covers that also includes Joe Perry, Jeff Beck, and Joe Satriani. GREGG BISSONETTE

6/98--Gregg is scheduled to appear on a forthcoming Alice Cooper Tribute album as well as former bandmate BILLY SHEEHAN.

2/10/98--Drummer Gregg Bissonette (toured and recorded with Dave from '86-'91 appearing on Eat 'Em & Smile, Skyscraper, and A Little Ain't Enough) has once again teamed with brother/bassist MATT BISSONETTE (Matt played bass on the Skyscraper tour and A Little Ain't Enough recording) for the release of his first solo album titled Gregg Bissonette (see right) on Shrapnel Records. Since leaving Dave's band, Gregg has appeared on various recordings, most notably, guitar heroes Ritchie Kotzen and Joe Satriani. This time some guitar notables return the favor, appearing on this disc. Including former bandmate STEVE VAI, Paul Gilbert, Steve Lukather, Andy Summers along with brother Matt who plays bass, co-wrote, and produced. Notable songs include killer covers of "Frankenstein" which features a re-worked drum solo that includes solos from Gregg's favorite songs, including "Hot For Teacher", and "No Matter What" on which Gregg takes over the lead mic!

BRETT TUGGLE/RAY BRINKER/"ROCKET " RITCHOTTE

10/98--Keyboardist/Songwriter, BRETT TUGGLE (member of DLR's Band from '86-'94) has spent the last couple years touring on the Fleetwood Mac Reunion tour and the 1998 Stevie Nicks solo tour.

10/98--Drummer RAY BRINKER (Your Filthy Little Mouth) handled drums/percusssion for the 1997 Pat Benatar album, "Innamorata".

10/98--Guitarist "ROCKET" RITCHOTTE, (Co-wrote "Last Call" from ALAE,) who replaced Terry Kilgore on YFLM tour, and played on "Bad Habits" from Sgt. Bilko) since was a member of Steppenwolf and recorded "Live at 25"--1995, and "Feed The Fire"--1996 since his first involvement with Dave in 1991. Richotte has since left Steppenwolf and has begun work on a solo album that is to also feature former Roth bandmates Gregg Bissonette, Ron Wikso (YFLM drummer), and Brett Tuggle.
