| Went to church today
because Anita wanted to recapture some childhood
memories. The minister that was in Germany during her
stay there did today's service. Her dad is with the Dutch
airforce and they lived in Germany for a total of 8
years. They did Germany in two servings of 4 years and
they are always sharing memories about those years over
there. They had a wonderfull house...They had som many
great friends...They watched Dutch television when the
weather was good...They had more snow in the winters... I never had so many memories about what so ever. We never sat around the x-mas-tree bringing back memories with slides, celuloid-film, foto's... But they're the kind of people that sit around that tree and say: 'Do you remember when..'. They can do that for hours in a row... We (my parents, my brother and me) hardley ever did that. At least, I have no recall of that. We did watch the total collection of slides my mom and dad have of my youth but only because Anita asked to do that. We had the whole collection at one night. I don't mind that we never shared memories of our youth (or that I don't have any recall of us doing that). I don't feel like I've missed out on something important for my life. I get to recall Anita's memories. After so many years I can talk with them as if I where there myself. We were at our house again today (nothing happening there right now because everyone is on holidays) because we knew that they had been doing the roof-tiles during our holiday. I only have a picture of it with the tiles on the roof but in the wrong order...
