Also, it was the overall opinion that the combination of both a disc jockey in late evening for dancing and live entertainment earlier for listening enjoyment was a good idea. Our live entertainment was provided by The Bootleggers, a mainly country music group headed by Dewey Howard, also a graduate of Northwest.
Among the guests was Mohawk alumnus Congressman Ted Strickland and his wife Frances and several past members of the Northwest faculty and staff. Among this group were Don Staten,Reba Staten, Gene and Penny Emnett, Jim Schuyler, Stan Doddridge, Adelaide and David Hunter, John and Shirley McClay and Pat Lynn and Jim Arnold. I hope no one was left out the list!
Alumni President Donna Cunningham , Vice President John Johnson and Treasurer Mark Kuhn presented the 2001 scholarship to Miss Whitney Montgomery, daughter of Bev Montgomery and Mac Montgomery, both of Lucasville.
Janey Penn mc'd the door prizes and raffle portion of the evening and Secretary Linda Richard and Address Manager Bill Lynn headed up the roll call. The Class of 1965 had the most members in attendance with 13. Those '65'ers included Betty Moore Carver, Kent Love, Lois Copas Love, Aretta Fuller Spradlin, Emma Robertson Pence, Donna Staten Cunningham, Bonnie Jamison Hoover, Fred Meenach, Penny Meenach Emnett, David Campbell,Diane Stephens Thompson, Linda Phipps Ratliff, and Connie Matthews Yeager.
