Hey! My name is Dave. This is just a little information about myself. This first part is just about some things I've done in my life. The second part is about my lifting life. There are some pictures of my friends and me too. I have played football for 6 years. I played tailback and safety. I have been the team captain for 5 of the 6 years. I wasn't my first year, go figure huh! Throughout my life, my teams have had a combined record of 43-8-1. My junior year our team won the Illinois State Championship in class 5-A. Our team went 14-0 that season. It was quite a rush. Probably the greatest feeling ever. My senior year was tough. We lost three regular season games and got knocked out of the playoffs in the first round. I also wrestled. I didn't do too hot in that. My freshman year I was undefeated on the freshman team and 6-6 on the varsity. My sophomore year I got sick and couldn't wrestle in the regionals. I was 18-6 that year. My junior year I went 26-10 and was two matches away from going to state. Senior year I was 16-3 when I tore a ligament in my chest and couldn't continue to wrestle. That sucked!

I have been lifting for just over 4 years now. When I first started lifting I was doing it to get in shape for football and wrestling. After a while I started to lift just because I liked to. When I was a freshman I weighed about 120 pounds. I could max out on bench at 135. I know that bench isn't the only measure for strength, but everyone uses it so I will. My max was only 15 pounds more than my weight.

My sophomore year is when I got huge. I started to lift with one of the guys on my wrestling team that lifted with me the year before. We got ripped. When we started we both weighed 130. We could max out at 155. We got on a good program and lifted for about a month and gained some good size. We decided to take some supplements to see how they worked. Creatine was the first thing we took. It worked very well. After that we took Ripped Fuel and Acetabolan. That's when we got big. Three months after we started I weighed 150 and he weighed 155. I could put up 275 and he could do 280. We kept after it during the first half of the summer. Then he got pulled away to go to work. I was lifting with another guy on the football team. While we were working at a football camp for young guys we went in the weight room to show the kids how to lift. I felt pumped that day and didn't want to look bad in front of the kids and my coach, so we both put up 265 then 285 and then he tried 300 and missed it. I got up and thought how cool it would be if I got it. So I got on and did it. All the kids were impressed.

I lifted in the mornings before school with two different guys from the football team. One is the guy I still lift with today and one was a year older and won state in wrestling. He was an animal. We kept lifting all throughout football and a little bit through wrestling. Then I got sick and stopped for awhile. After wrestling I could only put up 265. I kept lifting on and off with the one guy my age from football. I almost stopped lifting over the summer. I only got in there about 3 times a week.

My senior year I didn't lift at all during football or wrestling. I tore a ligament in my chest halfway through wrestling season. I finally started to lift about 2 months after that which was in February of 99. My max was about 205 and I weighed 145 pounds. After two months I put a lot of size back on.

I am still lifting now in my freshman year at college. I weigh around 165. I would like to put some size on. I hope to compete in the next year or so. My goal is to get up around 170 and then cut down with a lot of cardio and low rep lifting. We will see how that goes.

Right now I am currently at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. I'm majoring in Fitness with an emphasis on strength and conditioning. I hope to become a personal trainer when I graduate and then eventually own my own health club. That's about were I'm at now so if anyone has questions I will try to answer them the best I can. I would love to try and help people out if they need it. It would give me experience. I'm not a certified trainer yet so my advice is not from a professional point, but I do know a lot and I am learning more every day.
