Welcome, Fair Traveler!

So, you've decided to come out and play!

It's really easy to get involved in the Society for Creative Anacronism (SCA). Now that you've found our local group on the web, please click on the link for our Events and Meetings pages for when and where we're planning on getting together. Call or email the Autocrat - the person in charge of running the Event - if the information is listed. They will be more than happy to assist you in any way possible (As long as you don't call after 9:00 PM). Feel free to join us for any and all of our gatherings.

Part of the attraction for those in the SCA is the ability to recreate the lifestyles of those in the Middle Ages and Renaissance through studying and dressing in clothing from the period. It's one of the ways that we "lose ourselves" from the unpleasantries of the modern world. At most of our events you will find an assortment of costumes available for loan. By making an attempt at garbing yourself in period dress, you'll help in maintaining the illusion for those around you. Consider making garb from the Middle Ages when deciding on what to wear for your first event because of how easy and relatively cheap it is to make.
Take a look at our Arts & Sciences page for ideas and instructions for garb of different time periods.
