JOYCE AND BUD'S FAMILY

Joyce Kincel Christian and Bud Christian

Bud is a retired English, Speech and Humanities teacher. He retired from full-time teaching at a local college in 1993. He is a sports NUT and trivia FIEND. Bud has been writing a weekly column for The South Platte Sentinel since December 1988. Besides a great number of poems in multiple publications, he has had a number of books published: a textbook Be Bright! Be Brief! Be Gone! A Speaker's Guide in 1983, Potpourrivia (A Digest of Curious Words, Phrases and Trivial Information) in 1986, Nicknames in Sports: A Quiz Book in 1986, and his most recent Dusty Rivers, a poetry chapbook in 2001.
Joyce is a retired secretary/jr. programmer. She took early retirement from the local college in 1994. For the first time in her adult life she is her own boss and loves it. She spends a great deal of her time working on the family genealogy, doing computer illustrations for Bud's publications, and working on their website. She loves the computer and when not using it, she spends her time reading books and doing crossstitch pictures.

Kathleen Christian (elder daughter of Joyce and Bud) After graduating from college with a degree in theatre, Kathleen worked as a master electrician until an accident caused her to retire from the theatre.
Kathleen now resides in the Northwest with her blue heeler, Donk. She has a wonderful man in her life, Tom Roth, with whom she has gone into real estate business. They recently bought a brand new home, which Kat designed, in the northwest.

Kristie Christian Sweet (younger daughter of Joyce and Bud.) Kristie graduated from college with a master's in literature. She taught humanities and composition at a local college. She and her brood have since moved to the other side of the mountains and she has opened a coffee shop. She's probably the best educated barista in the state.
Egyptology is a prime interest of hers, among many others. Kristie, and her husband, blessed us with our three grandchildren whom we adore.

To your right are Kristie, Trista, Damien, and Derek.

Damien Christian Sweet, Tristanne Alyssa Sweet, and Derek Roy Sweet, Kristie's children.CENTER>

In 2001 we had a booklaunch for Bud's poetry chapbook Dusty Rivers. It was a lot of fun and here are a couple pictures.
