Hillbilly Dave is a figment of my imagination. *I ain't, neither!* Heh! I suppose you could call him my alter ego. *The only one around here with a "ego" is you!* Unfortunately, as you can see, he seems to have a mind of his own! [Even if it is mine!] *Mebbe yore the figment of MY imagernashun! And mebbe it's MY brain yore a-usin!* Excuse me for a moment, he can be rather stubborn. [Will you be quiet?] *Why don't you just make me? If I'm just a "figment," you oughta be able to!* [Don't push it!] *I ain't skeered o'you!* [mental stomp on foot] *Ow!! I HATE it when you do that! Well, alright, I'm a-goin'. But I ain't goin' far! Mebbe I'll jest go out to the porch fer a while!* [Fine! Just go!] Eh, hem! Sorry about that! Anyway, now that he's gone *Fer now!* (sigh) let me tell you a little about myself:

My name is David Walker *And I'm Hillbilly Dave!* [I thought you went away!] *I told ya I warn't goin' far!* (heavier sigh) I'm happily married to a wonderful woman named Shannon. I'm 33 and Shannon is 29. We live in Aurora, Missouri, which is a small town located in the southwest corner of the state about 35 miles southwest of Springfield. I own and operate a health food store that my parents opened up in 1974, and Shannon works in one of the local banks. We are both born-again, Bible-believing Christians who love our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

We've been married for four years as of October 10, 1996. We recently celebrated our fourth wedding anniversary in October by attending lamaze class! (Now THAT was a party!) And on Thanksgiving Day (11/28), at 11:28 a.m. (interesting coincidence, don't you think?) our baby daughter was born. Her name is Megan Elizabeth Walker. She weighed 9 lb., 4 oz. and was 21 inches long. Not bad for a first try! And she definitely has an appetite! At eight weeks old, she weighed 14 pounds, 7 ounces! *Sounds like she eats like you!* [Who asked you?]*Hee! Hee!*

My interests are Bible prophecy, playing and writing contemporary Christian music (I play keyboards and my favorite group is Petra), racquetball, science fiction (Trek and Babylon 5), and working on my Trans-Am (bargain basement purchase price of $500 dollars. I'm sure you know how THAT $tory is going! ). I'm also starting to try my hand at writing papers about my beliefs on various Christian issues, so be sure to check out my personal library in The Armory. *Hey! I got a paper that I wrote, too, y'know!* [I try not to think about it!] *What's that s'posed to mean?* [Never mind!] *??* Shannon enjoys floral design, bargain hunting (of course), Gone With the Wind (don't even get her started!), Precious Moments, and reading murder mystery novels (i.e. John Grisham, Jonathan Kellerman, etc.)

We also host a Bible study in the store every Saturday night. My friend, Shane, *I like Shane. He's a purty good feller!* [I'm sure he'll be pleased to hear that. Now will you please be quiet!?!] is currently teaching in 1Corinthians. Shane believes the Lord has given him a vision to start a non-denominational, home-based cell church. This is a fellowship of small groups that meet in homes rather than in an "official" building. (It may sound a little odd, but this is actually how the gospel was first spread by the apostles. Besides going to temples, they also met in believers' homes to teach the word.) This is not intended to "compete" with any other churches (we have several denominations represented in our group), but merely to be a supplemental source of fellowship and Bible teaching. It is also a good way for people who might not have found a church home yet to keep fellowshipping with other believers, or to reach those who may have been "turned off" by organized religion and bring them to the saving knowledge of Christ and His love. We are calling ourselves the Aurora Christian Fellowship.

I'm currently in charge of the music ministry for our group, and Shane is the overseer. If you know of any good (relatively easy to play) praise songs, let me know!
