Today has been a, well, interesting day to say the least. See, I always always sleep late on Mondays and get to work late and usually my boss lets it slide but I think she became a little irritated with me last week so I was thinking, "I have to get to work on time today, there are no excuses." Well--what was I thinking? With me, there's always an excuse. For some reason, my alarm didn't go off and I woke up at 9am, having to be at work in a half hour and needing to take a shower, not to mention it takes 10-15 minutes to walk to work. So I was freaking out, but there was someone already in the shower, of course! And I had to print out my paper and my printer, the bastard, decided to pick today to run out of ink. Soooo I changed the ink, printed the paper and finally got in the shower around 9:45. I didn't get to work for another hour, ugh! So I did get slightly busted today but I won't ever have this problem again...why? Because today, three other girls from my law class, and myself decided to revolt against our dick of a teacher. We all got below a 40% on the first test, and that was just ridiculous. I mean, I know I studied for a long time and I just don't get grades like this and the other girls felt the same way. So we went and requested withdrawal slips and got out of the class. So now, I'm only taking TWO classes and I have NO finals. I am *such* a slacker! But really, I'm over it. I mean, this way I'll be able to work more and I'll make more money and I'll be able to sleep in more, and that's so important to losers like me.
My linguistics class. Good lord, if you could only accompany me to my linguistics class for one day. I think I'm going to kill someone. It will either be (a) my teacher, who constantly makes jokes that aren't funny and always talks about living on the fucking Cheyenne reservation. I don't care! (b) this boy and this girl who sit near me who always speak up with stupid little anecdotes that are neither funny nor interesting and then they laugh at them--but don't seem to notice that they are the only two people laughing AND/OR (c) this other boy and girl who sit behind the annoying boy and girl and make fun of the annoying boy and girl throughout the entire class. Normally, it would be funny, but they think they're so much better than everyone else, and today, they have taken to speaking out randomly in class, saying things like "Pez." It is exceedingly annoying and although it's an interesting class, I dread going now. I have to keep telling myself, only 4 more weeks, only 4 more weeks.
The softball team is going to Hawaii tomorrow. They don't have class tomorrow so what are they going to do? Get drunk in our apartment tonight. Is Erin down? "Hell yeah" Is Andrea down? "Andrea was born down," says Erin. Well I have been repeating to myself all last night and all today, Iamnotgoingtogetdrunk, Imnotgoingtogetdrunk because of what happened last week. And not only that but I have a class early tomorrow morning and work to do for it tonight. In conclusion, Iamnotgoingtogetdrunk.
On this day in 1998...I spoke to Joci on the phone for the first time. Isn't that sweet? :-) Here is a link to me talking about our first conversation. We talked at midnight today in honor of it. I told my roommate about it and she promptly replies "How many anniversaries do you two celebrate?" Well--can I help it if we're sentimental?
Speaking of my roommate, she is starting a webjournal. She stole the code for my table, but that's ok, I stole it from someone else. I'll link up to hers when it's ready. She's still not allowed to read mine because I think I said bad stuff about her before. Hee hee.
Candice and I had fun this weekend. On Saturday, instead of going to support our roommates at the softball game, we took Erin's car and went down to Fremont (about a half hour south) to the New Park mall. We got lunch there and sat in the food court forever making fun of people. Then we walked around a bit and she made me get some See's candies, which were pretty good. Then we got bored (we get bored so easily) and we went to the movies. The tickets were hella expensive and it was early in the day so Candice asked if we could get a matinee discount; they said no, they'd already done that at 2pm. Candice asked if we could get a student discount; no. I asked if they gave discounts for people with bandaids next to their eyes because Candice had one there. Then she punched me in the arm. :-) We got tickets for Varsity Blues, but it didn't start for an hour and a half so we snuck into You've Got Mail and watched the last half of that. I'd already seen it--it's cute, Candice liked it. Then we went to see Varsity Blues, which I actually really liked. I didn't expect to, but I'd heard a lot of good things about it and it was good. After the movie, we wanted Togo's (this really good sandwich place) and we drove around forever and couldn't find it. Blast. So we gave up and went back to the apartment. Candice is funny, we have a good time no matter what we do.
I love this, I'm here writing an update at 3:24pm because I don't have a class right now anymore. Ok..off to the gym.
