4.2-6.98

I am now sending out a warning to anyone who reads this that it is going to be long. Very, extremely, extraordinarily long. I'm going to cover Thursday to the present and we had a very eventful weekend. I just hope I don't leave anything out. Okay, deep breath, I hope you have your popcorn ready. Here we go...

Thursday, April 2nd:

Countdown to Joci's visit: 1

On Thursday, I went to my morning classes, as usual. Oh no, wait. I didn't go to my morning classes. Hehe. I skipped arts and sciences because I had to meet my IPC group in the library to talk about our presentation. We worked until 12:30 and then I declared myself officially locked in the library so I could write and type my 3 papers. I finished around 2:30, and then dropped them off. Then I rewarded myself with lunch, and I had to pack. Katie and I left BG around 4pm and I was at the mall forever. Shane and I walked around and he told me he was leaving Camelot in May when I come back. :-( But he'll still be in the mall so at least we'll get to hang out. I saw Wylie and I got the biggest hug from him. He is such a doll. I'm so in love with him (and have been for 2 very pathetic years), but unfortunately, he has this icky girlfriend that he's had for like 4 years. Arrgh, get over it Wylie. I'm the one you want. Hehe, riiiiight. Anyway. So I walked around the mall about 30 times. I bought some snazzy snappy pants and some earrings. Then I did some work in the back room, I talked to Joci (last minute checkup), and watched the first version of the Titanic, which was okay. It certainly wasn't as glamorized as the Cameron one. Finally, we got to leave. Katie and I had some ice cream and played cards for 2 hours and listened to 80s music and talked. Considering we don't get to "do stuff" together very often anymore, it was nice. Then we watched the video of my party, and then I went to sleep. (Don't worry, this wasn't the eventful day)

Friday, April 3rd:

Countdown to Joci's visit: 0

I woke up around 9ish and showered, and around 10:30, Katie and I left to go pick up Joci. Here is an illustration of my inability to function normally in today's society (or at least in an airport): In a very clear and distinct voice, the guard says "Put any purses or bags on the conveyor belt. Put anything in your pockets on the tray." So what do I do? Throw my wallet and keys on the conveyor belt. Yay Andrea. It made this wretched buzzing noise and I scream "My keys!" The guard looked at me like insane. I was hoping Katie would say "It's her first time in an airport." No such luck.

Somehow, in the midst of the enormous Toledo airport (yes, I'm being sarcastic), we managed to find Joci. Hugs. Yay! We drove back to BG, but to Joci's dismay, we didn't see any cows. Awww. :-) We did, however, have the fortunate experience of driving through Haskins, which consists of a gas station and a carryout. Hehe. Once we were at BG, we went to get my stupid skimpy paycheck and then hung out for awhile in front of Offenhauer. Joci was very impressed by our beautiful school colors of orange and brown. Oh, and I forgot to mention that she'd only gotten one hour of sleep the night before, so she was a *little* tired. Just a little. :-) We went inside Mac to wait for the girls and Joci almost passed out on the couch. Finally, everyone came in after the dreaded Anatomy test and we all ate lunch together. Introductions and whatnot were made. Then it was nappytime. Linda and Joci passed out pretty quick, but I wasn't tired so Mary and I went over to the rec to play racquetball. I won one and she won one, but I let her win, I swear. :-) Then we went back and all piled in the Forbes-mobile and went over to Easy Street, but it was too crowded so we went to Junction which was okay. Linda and Karen wouldn't let me order potato skins. Ahh, the hard life. :-) After dinner, we contacted our alcohol provider, JJ and got "the stuff." We were pretty upset that we didn't get any Goldschlager--which we now affectionately refer to as "Christmas" because it smells really spicy and cinammony. Yummm. We had Southern Comfort and Jack Daniels Downhome punch. Somewhere in our drinking extravaganza, we got the video camera out and here are a few highlights:

  • Joci spilling all over herself

  • Mary shaking her ass

  • Me taking a shot and running past the video camera, waving frantically

  • Linda's tour of the posters (it isn't obvious who they are just by looking at them, I swear)

  • Me, randomly clapping for no apparent reason (how embarassing)

Finally, around 11ish, we left for the crew party. It was pretty crowded and hot in there, but it was fun. Karen did a keg stand for 13 seconds, but she cheated on 2 of the seconds. Awwwww. Everyone except me was drinking beer (hate beer) out of these little coffee and tea cups because they ran out of regular cups. It was hysterical. Joci told me I should go get one just to hold it. Hehe. So we stood around and talked and then Joci decided she wanted to see my ID, and I said no and put it in my pocket, so what does she do? Tries to reach down and get it. We started wrestling and someone said we were causing a scene, but whatever. :-) Then, later, Joci stole my chapstick because it had aloe in it and she gave this 10 minute lecture on the dangers of aloe. Hehehe. Then we got a hold of a deck of cards and I did my stupid horrible card trick that I made up last year. I'll unveil it for all my readers (or all 2 of my readers, whatever). Show it to your friends...

You hold out a deck of cards and tell someone "I'm going to trick you." You hold the cards out and say "Pick a card, any card." And then as soon as they're about to grab one, you pull the cards away and say "Tricked you!" triumphantly. Then you slam the deck down, pull out a random card and say "This is the card you were going to pick." I think I did the trick about 10 times. Arrrrrrgh. So eventually, we left and went to this bar called Uptown and danced for a couple hours. Joci and Linda almost got into a fight with some hoochie mamas that said they were in their dancing space or something. But I guess they caught a glimpse of Linda's pimp ring, because they took off pretty quick. :-) That was about it for Friday. Good day...

    Saturday, April 4th:

On Saturday, we all woke up sometime in the middle of the morning and no hangovers! Hooray! We went out to breakfast, and then after that, hung around for awhile. Once my sister got there, Linda had to go to work so Alison, Joci and I went to the rec. After that, we walked over to Subway where we met Karen and Mary and got dinner. After dinner, Joci, Alison and I played catch. I could throw fine to Alison but everytime I went to throw to Joci, it would end up in the bushes. Hehe, oops. Then Joci was complaining because her shoes kept coming untied so I taught her "bunny ears" and "double bunny ears" and then Linda whipped out her shoes and we're all sitting around telling Joci what to do and when we got it figured out, it was all quiet and then Linda goes "I can't believe we just had a shoe tying lesson." :-) We got ready unusually early and started drinking pretty early too. There is absolutely no way I can put how much fun I had on Saturday night into words, so I'm not even going to attempt it. I got some pictures which I'll put up on Wednesday if all goes well. All the little sibs were drunken fools. We had a blast. We got to drink our Christmas. :-) We kept running back and forth from Forbes' room to our room and being social and dancing and whatnot. In Forbes' room, they had this yummy rice krispy treat thing that we were putting in shot glasses and making toasts. But we aren't dorks, I swear. We went to a party on Frazee and I saw this girl who I hate there and I introduced her to my roommate because I was drunk. I wanted to fight her, but Alison told me no, so I didn't. I'm a nice sister. There are some pretty gorey details of the evening which are absolutely fucking hysterical to me, but I don't want to gross anyone out. If you want to know about them, email me and I'll share. When Alison sat on the ground and started making horrendous faces around 11:30pm, Linda decided it was time to go. :-) We walked back to the dorm, everyone was drunk off their asses, and we chilled in Forbes' room for awhile. Joci and I made a compromise about soda pop. It is now all Sprite. It isn't soda, it isn't pop, it's all Sprite. :-) until Laura got sick. Then we moved the party to Jen's room for awhile until Alison was ready to go to sleep. Then Joci and I grabbed a blanket (the blanket was my idea, actually) and took a walk. We first went to the Tech Lab and checked our email. I was sitting about 2 inches away from the screen. We got annoyed after awhile because these two foreign chicks were talking really loud and they had no idea what they were doing so we left. We walked over in front of Olscamp Hall and Joci found it necessary to sit on the statue of the thinker. We're both not sure why. :-) Then we sat on this cold bench with the blanket wrapped around us and almost fell asleep. Somehow, we got back to the dorm. :-) And I didn't forget to set my clock ahead either, despite my state of mind. Another excellent day...

    Sunday, April 5th:

We woke up way too damn early on Sunday. We went out to breakfast again and then had a really hard time deciding what we were going to do. So we sent my sister packing and all decided to go to the mall. :-) No one could get over how it was only Joci's second time in a mall. Hehehe, she was so cute. I think she said "wow" about 300 times, but I didn't count. :-) So we shopped and then got in the car and went shopping again. And again. The weather was totally gorgeous! We just drove all over Toledo with the windows down, 80s music blaring, gooood times. The weekend went by incredibly fast. :-( We had a short, but entertaining watergun fight up on the 4th floor. Best part? Krista was crouched outside of her room, looking down towards one end of the hallway and Karen and Mary sabotaged her from behind. Karen shot her in the back and as she turned and screamed, Mary ran by and sprayed her directly in the mouth. Hole in one. It was one of the most hysterical things I've ever seen. Later, Karen, Mary and I were standing outside my room with our guns pointing towards the ceiling and Rob walked by and goes "You guys look like the firing squad." And as soon as he walked past us all, we turned on him and got him in the back, the ass, everywhere. He screamed. It's so funny to see this 6'7" HUGE football player, running down the hall screaming like a girl. I almost fell on the floor laughing. Argh, but then we had to go. :-( Forbes drove us all to the airport where we proceeded to make fun of every single person in there. Joci pointed out that they could probably all hear us, but did that stop us? Nah. Our favorite was this one lady who came in about 45 minutes before the flight was supposed to leave and went up to check in, but there was no one up there. And no rush either. So we made up a story that when she was little, her parents tied her to the chairs in the airport and made her watch her flights take off and they laughed at her. It was a good story, I swear. :-) So...eventually Joci had to leave. :-( Hugs again! So Forbes and I took off and some guy was outside and he goes "Hey ladies, my battery's dead. Do you think you could give me a jump?" And he was so scary looking! But Jenny, the good samaritan, goes "Sure." As we're walking to her car, I begged her to just drive away, but she took the mace off her keychain and was like "Here, take this just in case." I kept picturing the guy going to turn on his car, getting a gun, and forcing us to go somewhere. But the pessimist in me was wrong, thank God. We got back to the dorm, Linda was sick, yadda yadda...

    Monday, April 6th:

Monday, finally I'm on Monday. The only thing really worth mentioning is that I woke up with a sore, scratchy throat. The same thing Linda has. We remembered we all drank out of the same shot glasses this weekend, so we asked around. Mary and Forbes both have it too. We're hoping Joci gets it so she can spread it around to her suitemates who can spread it around to their respective states when we go home for Easter. Our new motto is: "Spread the germs, spread the love" If you get this sore, scratchy throat, congrats! You have the shotglass epidemic. It all started with Linda, so blame her. Only other thing worth mentioning is that I miss Joci. Alotalotalot. LSOSKOS. :-)
