Fast Food and Animal Abuse: Is there a connection?

Fast food restaurants have always
been a favorite among kids as well
as adults. Good food, friendly
 enviroment......that's what every-
one thinks. But what most people
don't realize is the horror that
the animals endure while being
prepared as your main course.
With hamburgers, chicken nuggets,
and a variety of other flesh
products, McDonalds, Burger King,
Wendy's, and many other places
seem like a nightmare to animals.
While being prepared for slaughter,
animals are kept in tiny cramped
cages, often in their own urine.
They never know what the outside
 feels like. Chickens never get
the chance to spread their wings
and walk around and cows often
never see the light of day.
After months of being in these
unsanitary conditions, they are
 killed, shipped, and made into
the food people eat every day.
As well as being inhumane, these
conditions pose a health threat to
people. Diseased animals are not
excluded as food; they are shipped
with the healthy ones. There is
no happy end in sight for many of
 these unlucky creatures, but there
is something that we all can do.
Read on for ideas on how you can
help put a stop to this horror.

Ways to Help

There are a few things we can do to
help the animals. First and foremost,
don't eat fast food! A large boycott
of these murdering retaurants might be
just the wake up call they need.
Secondly, write to your local McDonalds,
Burger King, etc, and explain why you
are no longer eating there. Urge them to
at least give their animals some room to
run around while they are there. For more
tips, check out the link to PETA on the left.
