Larry Hale of Greensboro, NC and his 10 pound friend

Thursday, July 24, 1997. At approximately 8:30 pm, Larry Hale and family put in on one end of the lake and fished with moderate success. Larry fished all night while his wife and daughter slept onboard. When they woke up, he moved them all to the other end of the lake. The air temperature was about 68 degrees and water temp was 83 degrees. Recent rains had raised the water levels on this shallow end about six inches over floating weeds. He was casting a 1/4 oz. white *Chatterbuzz* buzzbait. The perfect bait on these overcast summer mornings. He cast again. As the bait came by some wood structure, !BAM! the fight was on! Once the hawg was finally in the boat, she measured 25 1/2" in length, 18 1/2" in girth and weighed exactly 10 pounds even! I'm still waiting for fortune to smile on me. Larry said, "The best part was that it was a family event!" Judy and Emily (wife and daughter) were thrilled to be a part of it too.

This fish has been oggled at times.
