HAWG JAW
HAWG JAW formed in august of 1996 from members of now defunct
NEW ORLEANS bands ARMED RESPONSE, PARALYSIS, SKAB, and DR. LALA.
Buy mid October, HAWG JAW had begun to play shows in the NEW
ORLEANS area. Also in October the bands first demo "SAD SONGS
SAY SO MUCH," which consisted of seven tracks, was released.
Since then, the band has gained momentum. in august of 1997,
HAWG JAW released their first 7" record entitled "ITS BEEN 365 OF
THOSE DAYS" on their own label, RETARD RECORDS. In addition to this
release, HAWG JAW will appear on a local cd compilation entitled
"IT CAME FROM 504," which is due out by december 1997.
As far as musical style is concerned, HAWG JAW seeks to capture
the intensity and impact displayed by early hardcore bands such
as BLACK FLAG, THE ACCUSED, AGNOSTIC FRONT, AND EARLY C.O.C.
Lyrics focus on personal politics, most of which concern dealing
with everyday situations that make life all the more difficult to
drag oneself through.
