Trent Reznor | Thoughts: I got into Nine Inch Nails later than most people, mainly due to lack of access. Trent Reznor soon became one of my favorite artists. I here a lot of people complaining about Trent Reznor being fake, or whining too much. These people don't get it. Reznor is an artist. If he can make money with his art, I say more power to him. I wouldn't have bought "Further Down the Spiral" or "sin" or "Fixed" if I didn't think I was going to get my money's worth. It's great that Trent Reznor is working with David Bowie. These two were my favorites, long before they had any connection. In 1995, when I found out that they were going on tour together, it was a dream come true. I remember people saying that the tour was a weird combination, and I told them that they were wrong, it was a great combination. Then there was Reznor's remix of Bowie's "Heart's Filthy Lesson" and now, "I'm Afraid of Americans." I think that the greatest contribution Trent Reznor gave to us is "industrial music with a heart." He took a great genre and put emotions (besides rage) into it. I think he'll be remembered as one of the greatest music icons of the 1990's. |
