Summer Solstice > circa June 21

The time when the Horned God is at the peak of his manifest power and the flowering Goddess welcomes him. The female takes in and is nourished by the male and the male is renergized there by.

On the altar place a cloth pouch filled with herbs Mentally pour all your troubles, problems, pains, sorrowsand illnesses into this petition as it is constructed . Tie it shut with a red string and light a red candle.

This is the time of equal day and night .... male and female. It is the second harvest give thanks and set goals for next harvest . Gather seeds, pods, and dried plants.

On the altar place acorns, oak sprigs, pine and cypress cones as well as dried leaves

scatter the leaves Leaves fall, all the days grow cold The Goddess pulls her mantle of the Earth around her as You, God of the Sun, sail toward the west to the lands of eternal enchantment, wrapped in the coolness of night fruits riper, seeds drop, the hours of day and night are balanced Chill winds blow in from the North wailing laments In this seeming extinction of nature's power, O Blessed Goddess , I know that life continues For spring is impossible without the second harvest as surley as life is impossible without death Blessings upon you, Fallen God, as you journey into the lands of winter and into the Goddess' loving arms

Time to calebrate the triumph of eternal life over physical death. The veil between the two worlds is thin and loved ones from the "otherside" join in and work with you. a good time for work with reincarnation of loved ones, always according to free will for the good of all This is the third and final harvest , give thanx , and my favorite sabbat **s** .

On the altar place fruits, autumn flowers.... on a piece of paper write an aspect of your life you wish to be free of. A small flat dish with an eight spoked wheel should be there as well . Think of those passed on but not with despair ... remember souls never die.

Invoke the God and Goddes in your own way then: pierce the skin of one of the fruit and place the seeds on the wheel marked dish .

On this night of Samhain I mark your passing God of the sun, through the sunset into the land of the young I also mark the passing of all who have gone before and all who will go after. Gracious Goddess, you who gives birth to the fallen, teach me to know that in the time of the greatest darkness there is light.

Taste the seeds of your fruit .. burst them in your mouth and savor their flavor .Know that the dish represents the wheel of the year, cycle of the seasons and the end and beginning of all creations.
