Y'all might be wonderin' how TAZ started out, right?? Well, here's a brief history on how our fave cartoon character first came out.....
Looney Tune's Tasmanian Devil, or more popularly known as "TAZ", found his debut in the 1954 movie "Devil Mayhare". This new character did not do well in the opening act and was not seen for a number of years after that. After many years TAZ was back in the screens chasing Bugs Bunny once again. Mel Blanc was hired to do the voice of TAZ, but since there is no known sound for a Tazmanian Devil, Mel was free to develop his own style for TAZ. Mel developed the ferocious sounds and voice that would bring the true TAZ character to life. TAZ is also based on the animal with the same name living in Australia.
