Dreaming

I want to be a wave Free in the ocean of life To be a sparrow flying Above the sin and strife I want to be the spring grass Blowing in the March wind The beautiful untamed lioness With the need to survive and defend The reason to the rhyme The most complicated maze A cricket singing in the night The blessed shade for the days The dust in the sunbeam A crater in the moon The vein in the leaf Healing in the jagged wound A shadow in the balmy mist The chipped paint on the wall The petal of a flower Footsteps in the hall Oh, to feel the ebb and flow Of the mighty Nile in my veins Be a stone in the Great Pyramid The healing in the desert's rain II Yet, in this life perhaps the comfort That keeps your sanity whole An area in your heart A little imbedded in your soul Could I be your breath? Taken by you over and over again Perhaps the tears when you lose The smile on your face when you win I want to be the reason You rise to face each day I want to be the melody Of every single song you play The eyes of your innocent child The flame of your indecent desires Every low to which you'll sink The mountain top which you aspire III I want to belong to something So not to lose myself Find this life a use Not set it on a dusty shelf To walk the trails of old Taste the snow in the wind Embrace every molecule of beauty With the splendor gently blend Lay down to peace at night Knowing I'm a woman I respect Building memories from laughter That one day I might reflect I want to know GodMore, Him to know me Or simply just be a wave In His wonderous boundless sea
