Amidst fanfare, showman Subhash Ghai commenced the shooting for his next film, 'Yaadein' on July 15th with Jackie Shroff in London. The mahurat for 'Yaadein' which has Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor as the romantic pair with Jackie Shroff playing a stellar role was attended by industry bigwigs. While various cameras clicked and television crews captured the event for posterity, everybody spoke very highly about their association with Mukta Arts and Subhash Ghai.
With Mr. Keith Vaz, Minister at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office as the Chief Guest, and Mr. Samir Jain, Director, Bennet & Coleman, the mahurat shot was directed by Shekhar Kapoor on Jackie Shroff. Industrialists L.N. Mittal and S.C. Hinduja gave the Mahurat clap and broke the auspicious coconut respectively Lord Bagri switched on the camera and Ketan Somaiya garlanded the camera.
Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Subhash Ghai said, "With the Bollywood boom worldwide, almost all countries are accessible to film makers-so much that it is as easy to shoot in London, as in Allahabad, since the film story is based in London, i thought it imperative to shoot my mahurat shot here and it gives me great pleasure to do so."
Apart from the above, hundreds of distinguished guests from all walks of life graced the occasion. The Mahurat was followed by party at the popular restaurant, Chor Bizarre. The shooting spell continued for 3 more days with Jackie Shroff.
This is the first time in London any Indian producer has chosen a foreign locale to conduct a film Muahurat on such a large scale. Subhash Ghai is a showman with many first, the first film to be insured (Taal), thus leading the film insurance Policy being renamed Cine Mukta Policy, to have the first film on the internet, etc, and now leading the Indian producers by being the first to go truly global!
