Alone

Wearily, I wandered up the mountain. My muscles ached, my hands were sore, even my hair hurt. I was bruised, sweaty, and I felt lousy. Why am I torturing myself? I asked. Because you love Haruka. I answered myself. I'm loosing it! I'm argueing with myself! Still, I trudged forward. However, I soon found a small cave and gratefully laid down. As I drifted into sleep, a plague of dreams hit me. . .

"Michiru!" Haruka's voice called my name. I turned around.

"Haruka." I gasped, running toward her. But she vanished from view.

"Michiru-san." Sailor Saturn stood before me, "You are giving up so soon? That's not like you."

"I'm not!" I exclaimed.

"Good." A new figure appeared. I gasped in surprise, my eyes widened.

"Sailor Moon. . ." I stood there, at a loss for words.

"Michiru-san." Sailor Moon said, her wings gracefully fluttering to her side, "You must find the courage inside you to continue."

"But it's not the same without Haruka." I whispered, tears building up in my eyes.

"I know what you mean." Sailor Moon placed her hand on my shoulder, and we both immmediately were in dresses of white. Sailor Moon was the Queen Serenity I had left on Earth, and I was once again Lady Neptune.

"What. . ?" I asked, looking around at the mist around us.

"When I was in need, you comforted me," Serenity said, "Now I am here for you. I know what it feels like, to loose a loved one. Remember, I went through it several times with Kind Endyimoun."

"That's different." I insisted.

"How?" She asked, looking me in the eye.

"You, I mean, well. . . er. . . he, uh. Well! It just is!"

"Believe in yourself Michiru-san. You are Sailor Neptune, and nothing is impossible." With those words, she vanished.

"Usagi!" I cried, calling her by her old name. I opened my eyes and sat up. My head was throbbing, "I won't give up." I promised myself. I left the cave and continued climbing up the mountain. But my eyesight began to blur, my strength was failing me. With a cry, I felt myself slip away from the mountainside.

I'm dying.
