Welcome Back, Osaka
Febuary 4th, 1997

Note: When I heard the news about KyraLovr, it tore me up so bad that I couldn't even stay online. I thought, "What could I do to show his family and friends how much pain and sorrow I share with them at this loss?" Then it hit me, I'll write a story in my fanfic series. A story that will not only help us to say good-bye, but also to help us to remember KyraLovr as he was: a good friend to us all. And so, I present the Story, "Welcome Back, Osaka"

The base echoed with the sounds of music as Kyra continued her worked on the notes. While she worked, Chaos and Ryin joined in song. "It takes a second to say goodbye, say goodbye..." they chimed together in key. Finally, the stress was too much, and Kyra whirled around at them, loaded for Sand Worm. "Why the Hell are you singing that Anoying song?!?" she bellowed at the top of her lungs. "For Parna's sake! Can't you sing something else?"

"I'm sorry," Chaos meowed meekly. "I'ts my fault, really. I was just teaching Ryin a song written by the patron saints of the Musk Cats, U2." "Who, us?" Kyra asked, intrigued by this new wrinkle in the storyline. "No," Chaos corrected. "U2. The letter 'U', and the number '2'. Their songs are what all Musk Cats live by to this day. Heck, our mating call is 'Love me, Thrill me, Kiss me, Kill me...' because of them, even."

"Why," Ryin chimed in, all of a sudden. "If they had a new album, I'd rush out and get it!" "Wouldn't YOU?" they all chimed in together towards you, the reader. Now that the commercial endorsements are finished, let's really start the story...

The darkened enclosure of the building was bright and sunny compared to the person sitting at the desk. He had reason to be upset; the guild had all but obliterated his profession, and now they expected him to help them. As he thought, he drew one last draw from the whiskey bottle before hurtling it into the wall. "Damn," he cursed under his breath. "Now I'll need to get a new bottle. Serves me right, though, for taking that job with those 'hunters'. Bah! What do they need me for, anyway..." As he picked up the envelope and began to read, his eyes grew huge. "MY GOD!" he exclaimed as he jumped out of his chair and grabbed coat. "They're sending TWO GIRLS out against that murdering rapist?!? Who are these people?"

"Us," a voice called from the door. He whirled around on his heels to find two girls and a funny-looking cat in the doorway, silluetted by the sun. "And just who the hell are you?" he asked as he strode over towards the door. "Well," Kyra began. "My name is Kyra, and this is Ryin and Chaos. And we are those 'two girls' that you just referred to. And according to our orders, we're supposed to meet up with Motivia's last police officer."

"Well," he strted as he walked over to the door. "You've come to the right place. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Chad Osaka, but you can call me Officer Osaka, if you please. So, you girls are hunters, eh?" "That's right," Ryin defended. "We're the best the guild could offer." 'Or sacrifice.' she added to herself, remembering that their mission was primarily to lure out a rapist, no matter what the sacrificew to themselves.

"Well," Officer Osaka started as he sat down. "Let's get to work. Here are the facts I've gathered so far: One, with every rape/murder, he has left a note with a number scrawled upon it. There have been six deaths so far, and no connection between all of them." "But that's untrue!" Ryin interjected. "Weren't they all members of the same class at the academy?" "No, only the last two deaths were connected in this way. All the rest of them didn't even go to school. The only connection I've found so far is point two, that all the victims so far were good samaritans of some sort. Finally, I think I've pinpointed his hideout."

"WHAT?!?" they all three queried together. "Just what I said. At three of the deathgs, a shadowy figure was seen heading off in some direction. I traced them all on the map, and The line all lead at one spot, Kadary." "You don't mean where Zio's church was built?" Chaos asked frightenedly. "Yeah, that's the one," Oficer Osaka started as he scanned his desk, then picked up a map of the town. According to reports, about the time the crimes started, strange activity began at the old church. I think it would be best if we go pay him a visit."

"Well...", Ryin began with a malicious smile. "We DO have a Land Rover parked out front, and I think that it just might make the impression we need." "A what?" he asked. 'Don't worry," Ryin called as she exited the house. "You'll see..."

Throught history, only one force created as much pain and suffering as Zio, and that was Dark Force himself. Now, only one thing remained of this broken man's dreams of world-wide destruction: his church in Kadary. As the group drove thru the front door of the establishment in their Land Rover, the assorted lazer bursts from the cannon burst open the ceiling and demolished the back wall. Once emerging, Officer Osaka whipped out his shotgun and proceeded to blow away what remained of the side walls and the interior. ONce they were finished, all that remained of this monstrosity was a table covered with blank sheets of paper.

"Well," Officer Osaka called as he strode up to the table and started to ruffle thru the papers. "These peices of paper match the ones that were found on the body." Suddenly, he saw a piece of paper on the ground and picked it up. As he read it, his face grew pale with fright. "OH NO!!!" he cried as Kyra stepped out of the Land Rover. "We've got to leave for Tonoe IMMEDIATALLY!" "Why?" Kyra asked as he wizzed by her in a blur. "It's this note!" he called frantically as he pulled her back into the vehicle. "If we don't stop the next death, The Proffound Darkness will be allowed to escape from his prison to torment us for all eternity!"

Note: I wrote this issue the day I found out about Chad Osaka's death. Because of the problems over the last two weeks, I didn't put out the issues like I planned. But, now all that has passed, and freedom reigns supreme again. I pondered the idea of changing the name of the officer, but it's a nice tribute in my opinion. The roses are for all the lovers out there, and the 'commercial' at the beginning is just for levity's sake. Oh, well. **sigh** peace to all, & power to all PS Otakus!---sfe_otaku (Creepin' on the come up...)
