Fatal Embrace
~ Shadowsouls´ Garden ~
Candellight
.
Dark Tranquillity and In Flames are
influencing new generations
of "Swedish melodic Death Metal" and
that is no longer a secret.
It isn´t a secret that the "Gothenburg-sound"
is world-famous
and that bands even here in Sweden appropriates
it.
That is why Fatal Embrace´s music didn´t
surprise me.
Fatal Embrace with members from the districts
near Falkenberg
and Hässleholm, have with Shadowsouls'
Garden
created a sound that mixes the best from
Dark Tranquillity with a lot of their own ideas.
When Dark Tranquillity strives for make their
music more
simple and direct, Fatal Embrace strive for
being more technical.
However they doesn´t lose the melodies
that characterise the
"Swedish melodic Death Metal".
There are few things to complaint about with
Shadowsouls´ Garden.
What the complaints should be pointed at,
is that the production
feels a little too thin and has got too much
treble.
A little more bass in the ground would have
done the trick.
Besides Dark Tranquillity, Fatal Embrace
makes me think about
Chuck Shuldiners Death and even Theory in
Practice from Sweden.
Shadowsouls´ Garden has grown up to
be a favourite among the latest releases.
It is this kind of albums that keeps me listening
to metal.
