In the early days of World War II

enemy submarines were sinking cargo ships off the eastern coast

of the U.S. There was a rumor that one of these U-Boats

found it's way into a coastal river in New England.

I wondered how the local people felt about this event

that penetrated what they thought was an

impenetrable area.
