Bert William Peairs

Bert is the "Official" Webmaster for the Class of '69's page. (Whoopee!). He has nothing else better to do (yeah right). What ever happened to Bert after graduation? Well let's read the rest and find out (I don't know about you, but I am sitting on pins and needles waiting to find out!).

Bert went to work after graduation at the A&M Discount foods on the corner of Brookhurst and Westminster Ave (real challenging job). On May 7, 1970 he went into the United States Air Force (so he didn't have to go to 'Nam). From his basic training in San Antonio Texas, he went to his technical school at Keesler AFB Mississippi. Since he did so well learning all about how to become an Automatic Tracking Radar Repairman, the powers to be thought he would be a good candidate to teach the same school (ok, so he was only 80 miles from New Orleans! Was told that he did have a good time at the 3 Madri Gras he attended, he has to take their word on it, he doesn't remember much of the time, except the hangovers).

When he got transferred, he went to LA (lower Alabama) and spent the next couple of years at Ft. Walton Beach, FL. There he decided that the Air Farce was not so bad and signed up for another hitch. When he left FL, he got transferred to Gila Bend, AZ (hotter-n-heck AZ) but took some time in between to go back home and marry a Bolsa Grande grad from '71, Lynda Kay Hawk.

Life was good then and in April 1975, a daughter was born, Jennifer Jo Peairs. In 1976 it was time to move on so Bert got sent to Nellis AFB in Las Vegas, NV. Well life was much more fun then! In November '76, a son came into their lives, Gregory Willam Allen Peairs.

In 1978, Air Force life was becoming a drag so in October 16, 1978, Bert got his "Civilian Papers" and packed up the family and headed home to Orange County. He got a job right away as a supervisor for Raytheon Service Company which was then located in Fountain Valley.

Bert bounced around jobs for the next few years and in August 1982 had a daughter, Margaret Louise Peairs and in March 1984 had a son, Jamison Andrew Peairs. Then he found out what was causing all the kids and had the problem fixed!

Now it is 1998 and Bert is working for Centon Electronics, Inc. (Need Memory for your Computer??) as a Systems and Network Administrator (computer nerd that makes the not-so-big bucks!). He currently lives in Garden Grove, not too far from Garden Grove High School where Margaret will be graduating from in 2000 and Jamison will be graduating in 2002. Jennifer graduated from Santiago and is currently living in Long Beach and works at Carlton's in Westminster Mall. Gregory is out of the house also, graduated from Lake, and is a handler for Animal Inns in Garden Grove. Lynda is working part time for GGUSD at Woodbury School as a Noon Duty Supervisor (glorified lunch lady).
