Our Trip to Reno

Sharon and I went to Reno, Nevada in early February. Sharon was going to attend the LDA International Conference. She had attended previous LDA conferences in Chicago, Washington, and Atlanta. This was the first time that I was able to go along with her.

We flew out on Saturday, February 12. We had to wake up at 3:00 AM (east coast time) to make our 7:30 flight from BWI. The flight went through Phoenix, and we arrived in Reno at 12:40 (Reno time). We then drove down to Virginia City where we walked around for a while going into some of the shops before having dinner at the Golden Rail. Sharon highly recommends their Chicken Pot Pie, which she described as "wonderful."

We stayed at the Comstock Lodge that night. The room was very nice, and the price very reasonable. Since our bodies were still on "east coast time", and we had gotten up very early, we were asleep by 7:00 PM "local time".

We woke up Sunday morning to the sound of snow plows on the road, and about 3 inches of snow on the ground. After Sharon stressed out about potentially being snowed in, we left the motel and found out the Nevada is much better prepared to deal with snow than Virginia. We had no problem getting around.

Other things that I still need to write about

I'll also be adding some pictues.

To summarize, it was a great trip!
