In the second week of September, Mike Kowalski was dropped from the band. John Cowsill took over on drums.
Contributor David Messick Jr. writes: "Black-tie event raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for the charity. The 1,000 audience members paid for 300 surgeries during an auction immediately before the show. In addition, a surf board autographed by the band was auctioned off at about $6,000. The band played in a ballroom on a slightly raised stage with a dance floor in front. As such, the audience was practically face to face with the band. It was a great show. Curiously, drummer Mike Kowalski was absent and John Cowsill filled in… doing a tremendous job. Scott Totten played drums as John sang “Help Me Rhonda.” Mike was in the hall before the concert and we got an autograph before the show. Bruce signed one during the encores."
