The first show of the Beach Boys' second full Japanese tour; the first was in 1966. The Beach Boys also made one appearance in 1979.
Contributor Tomonori Wanibe writes: "It includes the only live performance of 'Crocodile Rock' and comeback of 'Back In The USSR'... Before the car medley, Mike said 'We don't sing about cars of Toyota, or Mitsubishi'...Carl mistoned his guitar in the middle of 'Wouldn't It Be Nice'. 'Please Let Me Wonder' sung by Bruce was the most [highly] rated performance among Japanese fans. Dale Martel, who played lead guitar on 'Barbara Ann' was Carl’s guitar technician. Billy wore 'Goukaku' (meaning 'pass the entrance exam') headband that some earnest Japanese students wear. Some promoters announced that Brian would come with BB but he couldn’t come because of autograph sessions for his autobiography in U.S. So some fans claim...that they should pay the tickets back!"
