The contributors write: "The Beach Boys warmed up a sold out crowd of 1,500 on a cold February night at the State Theatre. Bruce Johnston soulfully sang "I write the songs" in it's entirety solo, alone on the stage while playing the keyboards! Bruce received a standing ovation. A surprised Mike Love who returned to the stage said to Bruce, "You've got a standing ovation!" Bruce jokingly responded to Mike, "I just pressed the standing ovation button!" Others surprises included Scott Totten singing lead on "Let Him Run Wild" followed by "She's Not the Little Girl I Once Knew" And a John Cowsill lead on "Sail On Sailor".
