Beach Boys Concert--May 27, 1972

Royal Festival Hall, London, England
May 27, 1972

Bruce Johnston had left the band a few weeks prior to this show, and was not present for the UK tour. A contributor notes that around this time that "Heroes And Villains" and "Wouldn't It Be Nice" were likely to be the opening numbers, performed prior to "Long Promised Road" (circulating recordings begin with Long Promised Road, but are likely missing some prior numbers). Mike Love recites a poem "Rishikesh" (as originally featured on Charles Lloyd LP "Waves").

Archive Update (6/4/08): Contributor Christian notes that this show actually took place on May 27th, not March 29th as it is erroneously listed in many sources. Ian Rusten confirms this.

Beach Boys probably present:

Mike Love
Carl Wilson
Al Jardine
Blondie Chaplin
Dennis Wilson
Ricky Fataar

Backup band included:
